Gerald “Jerry” Diekmann

Gerald “Jerry” Diekmann, age 62, of Clinton, MN, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank, SD, with Fr. Brian Oestreich officiating. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Gerald “Jerry” Diekmann was born October 24, 1952, to Bernard and Margaret (Sykora) Diekmann in Graceville, MN. He graduated from the Beardsley High School in 1970. After school, Jerry continued farming and driving truck for his brother Donald Diekmann. On March 14, 2015, Jerry was united in marriage to Darlene Finseth.

Jerry enjoyed watching NASCAR races, attending auctions, watching old western movies, riding his motorcycles, and driving fast cars. Jerry also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his wife, Darlene, of Clinton; children: Magen (Anthony) Robinson of Milbank, SD; Lucas (Heidi) Diekmann of Odessa, MN; Travis Diekmann of Ortonville, MN; and Samantha Diekmann of Ortonville, MN; step-children: Curtis Vierstraete of Wahpeton, ND; Brian Vierstraete of Minneota, MN; Jeffery Vierstraete of Ghent, MN; and Amy Vierstraete of Ghent, MN; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; siblings: Delores (Pete) Giroux of St. Joseph, MN; Bernard Diekmann of Austin, MN; Donald (Geraldine) Diekmann of Beardsley, MN; Margaret (Al) Retke of Brandon, MN; Joan (Robert) Stallman of Grand Marsh, WI; and Theresa Dale (Mark Reents) of Rockford, MN.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret; father, Bernard; and siblings, Dorothy “Dot” Gibson and Leroy Diekmann.
