ViDella VanErem, age 85 of Milbank died October 25, 2015, at St. William’s Care Center.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. Pastor Keith Bicknase will officiate and burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Emanuel Lutheran Church on Tuesday, October 28, from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Casket bearers will be:Lee Thole, Dan Thole, Corey Reiffenberger, Jodi Gronholz, Ed Steinlicht, Scott Steinlicht, Todd Koch. Honorary bearers will be: members of Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aide from Odessa, MN.

ViDella M. (Koch) VanErem was born May 24, 1930, at Ortonville, MN. She was the daughter of Lowell Marwood and Lola Leona (Boerger) Koch. She attended school at Grant Center Township and Milbank High School. ViDella was united in marriage with Don Steinlicht on October 12, 1947. She later married Emil VanErem on January 29, 1968.

ViDella worked many years as a cook for several local restaurants including Trevett’s Café, Hilltop Café, The Matador, and Club 7-75. She was a long time and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Odessa, MN and was chairman of the ladies aide for 12 years. She recently transferred her membership to Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. ViDella enjoyed sewing and her family will remember her wonderful baking and decorated cakes.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: five children: Lisa (Leo) Reiffenberger of LaBolt, SD; Laurie Thole of Big Stone City; Linda Bale of Sioux Falls, SD; Thomas Steinlicht of Ledgerwood, ND; Terry (Kay Ellen) Steinlicht of Charleston, SC; daughter-in-law, Linda Steinlicht of Wilmot; step-children: David VanErem of Milbank; Douglas (Pat) VanErem of Bonita Springs, FL; Rebecca (Allen) Fordyce of Canby, MN; James (Terri) VanErem of Brookings, SD; brother, Gene (Lois) Koch of Milbank, SD; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emil; son, Nick Steinlicht; daughter-in-law, Barb Steinlicht; sons-in-law: Don Liebing and Frank Bale; granddaughter, Heather Steinlicht; and brother, Jon Koch.
