Irma June Manning, age 99, formerly of Big Stone City, SD, died November 6, 2015, at Golden Living in Milbank.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Tabor United Methodist Church in Big Stone City. Rev. Melanie Reiners will officiate and burial will be in the Milbank Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.

Irma Mae (Unzicker) June Manning was born January 30, 1916, in Springfield, IL. She was the daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Nafziger) Unzicker. She attended school in Grant County. She was united in marriage with H. Dwight June on May 8, 1937, in Grant County, SD.

Irma and her husband were blessed with seven children: Richard, Darla, Diana, Sandra, Robert, LeAnn, and Connie. They lived in Grant County, SD, Odessa, MN and Big Stone City, SD. Irma was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She adored children and loved taking care of them. She had a great sense of humor and quick whit, even during her last years. She loved to dance and was a “mover and a shaker” – always on the go. She enjoyed exercise of all kinds, never afraid to ride a bike (even if it was motorized). She loved to garden, growing vegetables and beautiful flowers. She was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church, Big Stone City.

Irma June Manning is survived by her children: Darla Johanson of Corona, SD; Sandra June of Grand Junction, CO; LeAnn June of Minneapolis, MN; and Connie Turnquist of Rockford, MN; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, H. Dwight June; children: Richard, Diana, and Robert; grandchildren: Wendy and Marni; two brothers: Merle and Paul Unzicker; and two sisters: Fleeta Boerger and Melba Bland.
