David Hunt

David Hunt, age 65, of Revillo died on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at the Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Revillo with Rev. Keith Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Revillo Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 7, from 5-7 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.

Music will be provided by Donna Johnson, organist, and Tim Mundwiler, vocalist. Casket bearers will be Chad Limberg, Alan Lounsbery, Matt Chapman, Kelly Hunt, T.J. Kaffar, and Wyatt Hunt. Honorary bearers include Cynthia Hunt, Emma Hunt,                                                                                                                                                                                 Trent Chapman, Kyle Anderson, Mikey Anderson, and Nathan Anderson.

David William Hunt was born on August 1, 1950, in Clear Lake, SD, to William and Ursula (Even) Hunt. He grew up on the family farm in rural Revillo. David attended Prairie Rose #56 rural school for seven years and graduated from Grant Deuel High School with the class of 1968. Following high school, David began farming and continued to do so for many years.

On August 29, 1970, David was united in marriage to Judy Meister at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Revillo. To this union, two children were born.

David was a private pilot and had a passion for planes and flying. He enjoyed attending air shows and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. After he retired from farming, David built three airplanes. In addition to flying, David took great pleasure in many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and water skiing. He also enjoyed country music and liked to dance.

David was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Revillo, the Lowe Township Board for many years, and served as Township Road Commissioner for many years.

Left with David’s memory is his daughter, Dawn Hunt of Sioux Falls, SD; son, Wayne (Beth) Hunt of Rapid City, SD; three grandchildren: Cynthia, Emma, and Wyatt Hunt; siblings: Janice (Mike) Williams of Walla Walla, WA; Rita Crabb of Tucson, AZ; Darlene (Tom) Kaffar of Humboldt, SD; Larry (Jeanette) Hunt of Dawson, MN; Ramona (Mike) Brucher of Chugiak, AK; dear friend and companion, Diane Chapman of Revillo and her children: Lisa (Mike) Anderson of Montevideo, MN; Brian (Coni) Chapman of Montevideo; Matt Chapman (Valerie Fix) of Glenwood, MN; Diane’s grandchildren: Trent Chapman, Mikey, Nathan, and Kyle Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Karen and Marlys; and brothers-in-law, Dean, Dick, and Frank.
