Bulldogs Take Down Fourth Place at Invitational

The Milbank Area Bulldogs secured fourth place at the Watertown Invitational eight-team dual wrestling tournament Saturday. It was the first event of their 2015-2016 season.

“We competed hard but have many things we need to work on,” stated Bulldog head coach Jeremy Tostenson.

Milbank went 2-2 on the day. The Dawgs secured big wins over Mitchell and Yankton, but fell to Watertown. Milbank then battled a tough Huron team for third place and was defeated 71-0.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs were senior Dylan Pauli and juniors Jake Anderson and Ben Nelson. All three finished the day with a 3-1 record. Close behind were eighth grader Eli Fischer, junior Taran Mogard, and sophomore Tanner Kettwig at 2-2 on the day. Seniors Jordan Pollock and Chris Loutsch, sophomores Cole Dockter and Koben Huber, and freshman Alec Bien went 1-3 while junior Tyler Krause finished 1-2. Rounding out the team were sophomore Isaac Fischer (0-4), junior Jose Chen (0-3), and eighth grader Brodie Holtquist (1-0).
