Bulldog Wrestlers Earn Top Places at Floyd Farrand Invite

Eight Bulldog wrestlers finished in the top eight of their respective weight classes during the Floyd Farrand Invitational meet Monday and Tuesday, December 28-29, at Sioux Falls Lincoln High School in the highly competitive tournament.
“I am pleased with our performance,” commented head coach Jeremy Tostenson. “The guys competed and wrestled hard.”
Jake Anderson led the way with a fifth place performance. Isaac Fischer and Chris Loutsch landed in sixth place while Tanner Kettwig won his final match for a seventh place finish. Eli Fischer, Tyler Krause, Alec Bien and Cole Dockter rounded out the place winners at eighth place.
Milbank finished in 12th place in the team standings with a total of 58 points. Sturgis secured the top spot with 221 points followed by Sioux Falls Roosevelt with 204. Rounding out the team placings were Brandon Valley, 144.5; Parkston, 135.5; Watertown, 129.5; Canton, 113; Vermillion, 110.5; Brookings, 108; Lennox, 89.5; Sioux Falls Washington, 89; Wagner, 89; Harrisburg, 51; Garretson, 47; Sioux Falls Lincoln, 30; Howard, 26; Sioux Falls O’Gorman, 25, and Tea Area, 19.
Milbank will travel to Groton for a dual triangular Thursday, January 7, where they will battle the Tigers of Groton and the Sioux Valley Cossacks. Milbank will then host the Big Stone Therapies Border Battle tournament Saturday, January 9, at the Milbank Armory.

106 – Eli Fischer lost 8-2 to Lance Soukup, Wagner; won 5-3 over Riley Weber, Parkston; won 7-4 over Hayden Pierret, Garretson; fell 5-2 to Jason Nixon, Brookings; lost by 14-2 major decision to Lance Soukup, Wagner. Eighth place finish.
113 – Tyler Krause lost by fall to Aydan Mack, Watertown, :45; won by forfeit over Mason Jones, SF Roosevelt; fell by 13-2 major decision to Preston Nedved, Wagner; lost by fall to Alex Stoneall, SF Washington, 4:31. Eighth place finish.
132 – Alec Bien won 6-3 over Jared Fitzgerald, Garretson; lost by fall to Bailey Brengle, Sturgis, 1:18; won by fall over Tycho Clausen, SF O’Gorman, 2:33; lost by tech fall 16-1 to Michael Kumlien, Harrisburg, 3:09; fell 1-0 to Colton Frei, Wagner. Eighth place finish.
138 – Isaac Fischer won by forfeit over Logan Simmons, Vermillion; lost by tech fall 16-0 to Stas Sutera, Canton, 5:16; won 7-1 over Ben Ostebee, Harrisburg; won 5-4 over Tyler Small, Brandon Valley; lost by tech fall 16-1 to Kyle Tulowetzke, Watertown, 4:06; fell by 10-2 major decision to Stas Sutera, Canton.
