Nine Milbank Area Bulldog wrestlers earned a medal at the Harrisburg Wrestling Invitational Saturday by placing in the top six of their respective weight classes.
Jake Anderson, Taran Mogard and Tanner Kettwig led the Dawgs with a fourth place finish. Chris Loutsch, Koben Huber and Ben Nelson landed in fifth place while Eli Fischer, Tyler Krause and Jordan Pollock claimed sixth place.
“It was a good day of wrestling by placing nine guys,” said Bulldog head coach Jeremy Tostenson.
Milbank Area finished seventh in the team standings with 103 points. Aberdeen Central won the event with 258 points. Sioux Falls Roosevelt took second with 244.5 while Madison was third with 178.5.
Rounding out the team totals were Harrisburg, 152; Sioux Falls Washington, 112; Yankton, 112; Fulda/MCC, MN, 70.5; Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, IA, 57; Crofton-Bloomfield, NE, 48; Tea Area, 48; Omaha Gross Catholic, 36, and Dakota Valley, 21.
Milbank Area will travel to Clear Lake Thursday, January 21, for a dual triangular followed by a triangular in Chamberlain Friday, January 22. The Bulldogs will wrap up a busy week with the Chamberlain Invitational tournament Saturday, January 23.
