Glen Shepard, age 74, of Big Stone Lake, died Thursday, January 21, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Holden Lutheran Church in Beardsley with Minister Bev McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in Holden Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday.
Glen L. Shepard was born on February 28, 1941, in Appleton, Minnesota to Donald and Clara (Gaulke) Shepard. He graduated from Graceville High School in 1959.
On July 1, 1962, he was united in marriage to Janice Weick. To this union two children were born – Greggory Glen Shepard and Laura Ann Shepard Kammeyer. Glen and Janice were married for 53 years. Glen worked for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works in Waterloo, Iowa for 32 years. Following retirement, Glen and Janice moved back to Big Stone Lake.
Glen was an avid fisherman and woodworker. He would tackle any project put before him! He also loved college football and basketball, sports he had played in high school.
Glen died after a brief illness on January 21, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, with his family at his side.
Left with Glen’s loving memory is his wife, Janice Shepard of Clinton, MN; children: Gregg (Susan) Shepard of Cedar Falls, IA, and Laurie (Scot) Kammeyer of Waterloo, IA; five grandchildren: Joshua (Mallory) Shepard, Katie (Craiger) Cook, Jordan (Danielle) Shepard, Andrea Shepard, and Brooklyn Kammeyer; unborn great-grandchild, due on February 14; brothers: David (Trudy) Shepard of Waverly, IA, and Marvin (Judy) Shepard of Waterloo, IA; sisters: Delores (Joe) Gaulrapp of Wheaton, MN, and JoAnn (Jim) Baysinger of Waterloo, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard.
