_DSC0003 (8)The Milbank Bulldogs defended their dual wrestling title and repeated as Northeast Conference dual champions with two big conference wins over Britton-Hecla and Webster Area Thursday, January 28, at the Milbank Armory.

The Dawgs rolled over Britton-Hecla 72-12 in their first dual of the evening. The locals then cruised to a 51-21 victory over Webster Area to secure the title. Milbank’s heavyweight, Tanner Kettwig, finished out the match in an exciting fashion by pinning his opponent with four seconds remaining.
“Our guys wrestled aggressively and attacked,” noted head coach Jeremy Tostenson. “I am proud of our guys for reaching their goal of repeating as Northeast Conference tournament and dual champs.”

Tyler Krause, Eli Fischer, Toby Schneck, Alec Bien, Jake Anderson, Taran, and Tanner Kettwig wrapped up the night with a 2-0 record. Brodie Holtquist, Jose Chen and Koben Huber went 1-0 while Jordan Pollock, Isaac Fischer, Cole Dockter and Riley Folk finished 1-1.

Milbank will travel to Aberdeen Saturday, January 30, for the Lee Wolf Invitational before finishing out its dual competition in Huron Thursday, February 4. The Bulldogs hold a 14-6 dual record.
