Micheal A. Bohlen, age 64, of Milbank, died January 31, 2016, at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 3 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank with Father Gary DeRouchey celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be at Mundwiler Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 2, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday for one hour prior to the time of Mass. Burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
Micheal Ado Bohlen was born on May 18, 1951, in Milbank, SD, the son of Ado and Marie Bohlen. He attended school in Milbank and graduated from Milbank High School with the class of 1969. He then attended and graduated from Wahpeton School of Science. On June 26, 1971 Mike was married to Patricia Whiting at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ortonville MN.
Mike worked as a truck driver for Valley Queen Cheese for over 27 years. He also drove truck for Oxton Trucking from 2000 until 2010. He was most recently employed by Kranz Well and Excavating. Some of his favorite pastimes include; hunting, fishing, square dancing with his wife Pat and fixing anything that was broken. His real passion was his family; especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also active in the St. Lawrence parish in Milbank, teaching Confirmation for many years and also volunteered with the local hospice organization.
Mike is survived by his Wife Patricia Bohlen of Milbank, SD; Children: Matthew (Jessica) Bohlen of Milbank, SD; Alicia Rombs of Bismarck, ND; Joshua (Beth) Bohlen of Clinton, MN; Mother Marie Bohlen of Milbank, SD; Grand Children: Nathan (Jenn) Nordly, Kaitlyn (Tom) Silver, Logan Nordly, Morgan Nordly, Anthony Rombs, Kendra Bohlen, McKenzie Severson, Abbigayle Bohlen, Nicholas Rombs, Jackson Bohlen, Jacob Rombs, Blake Bohlen; Great Grandchildren: Ashton and Jameson Nordly; one sibling: Mary (Berton) Morton of Milbank, SD.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ado Bohlen; one grandson, William Micheal Rombs; and Mother and Father-In-law, Dorothy and Lee Whiting.
