Sharon L. Steege, age 74, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at the Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health.
Services will be held at the Living Word Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 6th, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Craig Werling officiating.
Visitation will take place for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.
Sharon was born on September 26, 1941, in Milbank, SD to the late Leonard and Rozella (Anderson) Kloster. Sharon graduated from Milbank High School in 1959 and then spent many years in Bloomington, MN until she returned to her hometown of Milbank in 1994.
Sharon thrived in Milbank as she spent much time utilizing her gifts in talented ways that were enjoyed by those who knew and loved her. Her flair for art, eye for creating beautiful gardens, baking abilities, and the pride she took in adding special touches to her home were some of the many gifts those around Sharon were fortunate to enjoy. Sharon worked part time at the County Court House and served as the Grant County Historical Society Museum curator for many years. Sharon was genuinely interested in preserving history for her family’s genealogy as well as for the community.
Sharon is survived by her son, Bradford Steege of Merrill, WI; daughter, Heather Steege of Lakeville, MN; sister, Clarice Durbin of Milbank, SD; brother-in-law, James Tindall of Edina, MN; two grandchildren; and several caring nieces, nephews and close friends
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ardith Tindall; and brother-in-law, Dan Durbin.
