Eleanor OsterlohEleanor Osterloh, age 75, of Wilmot, died Friday, February 5, 2016, at the Wilmot Care Center.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmot with Rev. John Barkett officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilmot City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, at the church and will continue on Wednesday for one hour prior to the time of service at the church.

Casket bearers will be Gene Frerichs, Dennis Hutchins, Richard Wente, Robert Hornstein, James Hutchins, and Daniel Osterloh. Honorary bearers include all of Eleanor’s relatives and friends.

Eleanor Rosella Osterloh was born on April 1, 1940, in Day County, South Dakota to Jesse and Amanda Bertha (Pingle) Hutchins. She graduated from Peever High School in 1958. On July 31, 1971, Eleanor was united in marriage with Delton Osterloh in Browns Valley, Minnesota.

Eleanor was a bookkeeper for Golden Cream Dairy in Morris and also for Cenex in Wilmot. She also worked at Jurgens Oil as a fry cook and cashier. Eleanor was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Wilmot where she served as the janitor. She was a member of the Wilmot Community Club. Eleanor also volunteered as a supervisor for play time at the Wilmot Youth Center.

In her free time, Eleanor enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, and trips to the casino. She was an excellent cook, known by most for her pickles but her grandsons especially loved her meatballs.

Left with her loving memory is her husband of 44 years, Delton Osterloh of Wilmot, SD; son, Kleon (Julie) Kvatum of Wilmot, SD; three grandsons: Christopher, Reese, and Heath, all of Wilmot, SD; brothers: James (Carol) Hutchins of Wilmot, SD, and Ernest (Gloria) Hutchins of Brookings, SD; and nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary.
