The Milbank High School gymnastics team concluded its season with an awards potluck Monday, February 22, in the high school lunchroom.

Three awards were voted on by the varsity gymnasts. Junior Brooke Fraasch was named the most dedicated gymnast this season while freshman Mackenzie Weinkauf earned the hardest worker award. Sophomore Jodi DeVaal was named the most improved gymnast on the varsity team.

Three other awards were given as voted on by the coaching staff. Christina Lusk received the coaches award for being dedicated, hard working, coachable and always doing what is asked of her. Jodi DeVaal was named the rookie of the year while Natalie Stohr received a senior award for six years of dedication to the sport of gymnastics.

Brooke Fraasch was named the most valuable gymnast on the team. She earned the most points for the team throughout the season as well as accumulating the most points on each apparatus. She tallied 375.25 season points, 100.80 points on vault, 87.825 on bars, 88.475 on beam and 98.150 on floor.

Natalie Stohr also earned a plaque for having the highest score on the team on vault, bars, floor and all-around. She scored a 9.025 on vault, 8.175 on bars, 9.45 on floor and 33.475 in all-around. Emily Dornbusch and Brooke Fraasch tied with the highest score on the team on the balance beam with an 8.250.

Junior Varsity awards were also given. Tori Hooth earned the highest score on vault this season with a 8.25. Greta Snaza had the highest all-around score with 28.050 and bar score with 6.15. Peyten Wiese had the highest beam score with a 7.40 while Danica Schulte had the highest score of floor with an 8.15.

Maddie Gustafson earned the highest vault and all-around scores among the eighth grade gymnasts this season. She scored a 8.6 on vault and 32.30 in the all-around competition. Danica Schulte had the highest scored on bars (8.50) and beam (8.80) while Tori Hooth earned the highest score on beam (8.80) and floor (8.90).

Greta Snaza was given an award for having the highest seventh grade scores in all-around, vault, bars, beam and floor. She scored 32.70 points in all-around, 8.3 on vault, 7.9 on bars, 9.4 on the beam and a 9.3 on the floor exercise.

Gymnasts earning a middle school certificate included Maddie Gustafson, Tori Hooth, Danica Schulte, Rhianna Folk, Mitayh Medicine Crow, Heidi Meyer, Leah Mogard, Greta Snaza, Sydney Spanton and Peyten Wiese.

Earning a Minor M were junior varsity gymnasts Bermet Artykboeva, Maty Lightfield, Christina Lusk, Taylor Dragt, Mya Johanson (student manager), Ashley Spors, Kimberly Van Sambeek, Maddie Gustafson, Tori Hooth, Danica Schulte, Greta Snaza and Peyten Wiese.

Gymnasts earning a Major M varsity letter were Natalie Stohr, Jamie DeVaal (student manager), Brooke Fraasch, Emma VanVooren, Jodi DeVaal, Emily Dornbusch, Maty Lightfield, Christina Lusk, Mackenzie Weinkauf and Maddie Gustafson.
