Bulldog Grapplers Battle In Day One Of State Tournament

The Milbank Bulldog grapplers battled throughout each match in the opening day of the State Class A high school wrestling tournament in Rapid City Friday, February 26. In the double elimination tournament, Milbank finished the day with one wrestler still standing. Jake Anderson went 21 on the day and advanced to the placing round Saturday. Cole Dockter and Riley Folk also secured one win in the first round wrestlebacks before being eliminated in the second round wrestlebacks Friday night.
“We competed hard and that’s all you can ask,” said Milbank head coach Jeremy Tostenson. “I am proud of the way our guys work and represent Milbank.” Two seniors wrapped up their high school wrestling career Friday for Milbank. Chris Loutsch and Jordan Pollock both ended solid careers and will be missed next year.

113 Tyler Krause lost by fall to Cody BeVier, Rapid City Stevens, 2:20; lost by 160 technical fall to Ryne Whisler, Vermillion, 3:00.
126 Jordan Pollock lost by fall to Tyson Stoebner, Lennox, 3:19; lost by fall to Nolan Johnson, Madison, :35.
132 Alec Bien lost by fall to Bailey Brengle, Sturgis Brown, 1:51; fell by 152 major decision to Max Toenah, Tea Area.
152 Jake Anderson won 41 over Dillon Bollinger, Watertown; fell by 100 major decision to Tanner Fridrich, Tea Area; downed Josh Cid, Madison, 52.
160 Cole Dockter fell 105 to Dante Colicheski, Rapid City Stevens; won by fall over TJ Schaefer, Sioux Falls O’Gorman, 1:34; lost 95 to Nick Wiebe, Pierre.
182 Chris Loutsch fell 51 to Logan Warzecha, Harrisburg; fell by 156 major decision to Cole Leighton, Madison.
195 Riley Folk lost by fall to Nate Guthmiller, Madison, 4:27; won 43 over Sam Detert, Harrisburg; fell 62 to Levi Stoltenburg, Pierre.
