She married her high school sweetheart, Justin Scholberg, on September 24, 1949, in Eidskog Lutheran Church – where she was also baptized and confirmed. She passed on joy and wisdom to her grandchildren.

Birdie is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Justin; and six children: Tom (Deb) Scholberg of Minneapolis, MN; David (Meg) Scholberg and Mark (Cindy) Scholberg – both of Ortonville, MN; Corrine (Gary) Stevenson of Fresno, CA; Barbara (John) Ness of Horace, ND; and Steve (Maria) Scholberg of Lake Elsinore, CA. She also has 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Fred (Nola) Lockwood and Jim (Lenore) Lockwood; and her sister, Diane (Bob) Martinka.
