12828313_10208914063833226_6801526381341771317_oThe Milbank Area boys basketball season concluded with an awards potluck Monday, March 14, in the MHS lunchroom. Special recognition was given to the senior players and student managers. Each was presented with a plaque during senior night earlier this season. Seniors players were Nolan Foss, Isaac Snaza, Kyle Montag, and Jacob Jackson. Senior managers were Andrew Mears, Brandon Adolph, and Chris Stodolski.

Snaza and Mears were recognized as Academic All-State award winners for their performance in the classroom. The recognition is sponsored by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association. Athletes must participate in the sport for three years and maintain a 3.5 grade point average.

1421154_10208914061833176_3806201728269033439_oSophomore Jonny Ash was the lone Bulldog named to the All-Northeast Conference team. He was named to the second team as voted on by the conference coaches.

Athletes who received a Major M for the season were support staff: Andrew Mears, Brandon Adolph, Chris Stodolski, Austin Schuelke, and Isaac Nolz. Varsity team members were: Nolan Foss, Isaac Snaza, Kyle Montag, Jacob Jackson, Matt Lenards, Nate Bien, Riley Wollschlager, Tanner Gauer, Cody Dockter, Jonny Ash, Derrick Aho, James Weber, Caden Bjordahl, and Mitch Quade.

Minor M certificates were given to Jake Fox, Jordan Riley, Nolan Hanson, Kacen Huber, Riley Gauer, Jacob Sandvig, Jacob Karges, Conner VanVooren, Tate Stricherz, Chandler Peery, Preston Morton, Derek Weinkauf, Tanner Bock, Gage Sayler, and Noah Pillatzki.

“I want to thank assistant coaches Ryan Scoular and Troy Gauer, statisticians Jimmie Berkner and Taylar Bock;managers Andrew Mears, Brandon Adolph, Chris Stodolski, Austin Schuelke, and Isaac Nolz; S&D One Stop, Hardee’s, and Taco Johns for all their contributions to the boys basketball program this season,” said head coach Matt Bastian.
