Mary Kasuske, age 76 of Corona, SD died March 29, 2016, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2 at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Corona. Rev. Caleb Schewe will officiate and burial will be in the Milbank Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
Casket bearers will be: Josh Seezs, Jerry Seezs, Derek Myers, Ken Dragt, Dustin Smith, and Lonnie Nelson.
Mary Jane (Poel) Kasuske was born April 29, 1939, in Roberts County, SD. She was the daughter of Haiko and Lydia (Harms) Poel. Mary grew up in the Corona area. She attended rural school in Kilborn Township and later in Corona. She was united in marriage on November 21, 1958, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Corona with Joe Kasuske.
Mary and Joe owned and operated at car garage and gas station on Corona’s Main Street. They later farmed together and started a cabinet making business, Farm Made Cabinets. Joe died on December 24, 1987. Mary has made her home in Corona for the past few years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Corona. She enjoyed gardening and will be remembered for the bushels of cucumbers that she grew and sold. She liked to fish and adored her dog, Snickers. She was proud of her family and always enjoyed their visits.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Floyd “Ernie” Kasuske of Corona, SD; one granddaughter, Cheyanne (Dillon) O’Dell of Layton, UT; sister-in-law, Lorna Poel of Gillette, WY; brothers-in-law: George Smith of Milbank, SD and Ernest Pesicka of Warrensburg, MO; special friend, Mary Hart of Layton, UT; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters: Alma and Carol; and one brother, Robert.
