Deloris AngerhoferDeloris M. Angerhofer, age 89, of Milbank, SD, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at St. William’s Care Center.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milbank with Rev. Nathan Neugebauer officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Wednesday.

Casket bearers will be Ken Hermans, Darrel Smith, Jared Tillman, and Jim Angerhofer, Jr. Honorary bearers include the caregivers at St. William’s Care Center and Deloris’ grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Deloris May Angerhofer was born on August 16, 1926, in Milbank, SD, to Julius and Florence (Darrington) Hyatt. She was baptized on September 4, 1927, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milbank and confirmed in September 1939 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Roberts County. Deloris attended Roberts County Public Schools, earning a public school diploma on June 11, 1941.

On September 29, 1945, Deloris was united in marriage with Arthur “Art” Angerhofer. To this union, three daughters were born. Deloris and Art farmed 2 miles west of KMSD in Milbank. Having no sons, Deloris was Art’s right-hand man. They farmed a ½ section and Deloris raised and sold dressed chickens and eggs for many years. They farmed for 65 years until moving into Friendship Circle in 2001. Art passed away in 2006.

Deloris was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Alban Township. She was active in the church, teaching Sunday School for many years and serving as a member of the Ladies Aid.

Deloris enjoyed visits from everyone. She enjoyed spending time writing and sending cards to people on birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and to those who were ill. Deloris always put everyone else’s needs before her own. She was known for her cooking and never let anyone visit without fixing them something to eat. Deloris loved playing cards, watching Survivor, gardening, and antiques. Deloris and Art were well known for restoring and selling antique furniture after they retired from farming.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Diane (Keith) Grabow of Milbank, SD, and Beth Brown of Big Stone City, SD; siblings: Jim (Linda) Hyatt of Ewa Beach, HI; Cleo Bogenrief of Milbank, SD; Al (Nancy) Hyatt of Emery, SD; Florrie (Darrel) Smith of Milbank, SD; Julee (Ken) Hermans of Milbank, SD; sisters-in-law, Vera Hyatt of Aberdeen; Teresa Hyatt of Milbank, SD; Dorothy Prendergast of Milbank, SD; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Art; daughter, Donna Grabow; great-grandson, Brett Tillman; sons-in-law, Robert Brown and Daryl Grabow; brothers, Gene and Bert Hyatt; sister, Gloria Amsden; brother-in-law, Frank Bogenrief; and sisters-in-law, Stella Bucy and Sophie Brown.
