The Grant County Library has two book events scheduled for April. The Book vs. Movie event features American Sniper. “Join our online book discussion group and come watch the movie of this best selling story,” stated Jody Carlson, library director.
American Sniper is an autobiography of the most lethal Navy Seal sniper in United States military history, Chris Kyle. The online book discussion can be accessed on Facebook on the GCPL Book Club page. Ask to join the American Sniper discussion. Patrons are then invited to watch the movie at the library Thursday, April 7, beginning at 6 p.m.
The library will also host a One Book South Dakota book discussion for Some Luck by Jane Smiley. The discussion will be led by scholar Gary Westgard on Tuesday, April 26, at 7 p.m. in the library community room. Copies of the book are available at the library. “This program is made possible by the South Dakota Humanities Council which is an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities,” explained Carlson.
For more information on either of these events, please contact the library at 605-432-6543.
