Four Milbank Grapplers Capture State AAU Wrestling Title

Four youth from the Milbank Wrestling Booster Club were crowned State AAU Wrestling Champions during the state tournament April 2-3 in Aberdeen.
Lawson Novy captured a state title in the tots division while Andrew Folk topped the field in his weight class in the bantam division. Eli Fischer and Toby Schneck each earned the title in the schoolboy division.
Fifteen of Milbank’s 22 state qualifiers placed at the state tournament. “We are so proud of our wrestlers. Placing 15 guys at the state meet is the most we have ever placed,” stated booster club coach Ronnie Krause.
Earning second place in the midgets division was Evan Dorsett. Barrett Schneck placed third in the novice division while Evan Folk was third in the tots division. Placing fourth in the tournament were Jordan Krause (cadets) and Owen Fischer (midgets).
Also earning a medal were fourth place finisher Brodie Holtquist (cadets); fifth place finishers Angel Chen (schoolboy), Samuel Garcia (tots) and Joe French (midgets); sixth place finishers Brayden Christensen (novice) and seventh place finisher Noah Garcia (novice).
