_DSC0010A Walk Through the Garden is the theme for the MHS 2016 Prom. The high school gymnasium will be transformed into a garden wonderland Saturday, April 30. “The Grand March starts at 6 p.m., a new time this year,” said prom student advisor Joyce Hora.
Guest announcers, Brad and Jackie Olson, will introduce the 84 couples. The public is invited. Doors open at 5 p.m. and admission is $2.

Co-chairing the 2016 prom are MHS juniors Paige Johnson and Mackayla Schuelke. Other committee members include: Taylor Balling, Jimmie Berkner, Taylar Bock, Kerissa DeBoer, Brooke Fraasch, Sarah Grabow, Allison Grear, Mady Hilbrands, Mikaela Hoeke, Karlee Jo Mertens, Nadia Ortiz, Presley Peschong, Macie Redmond, Korinne Roggenbuck, Kaitlyn Rufer, Kasi Schlueter, McKenzie Severson, Hannah Tietjen, Mallory Trapp, Clare Van Dover, Emma VanVooren, and Brianna Veen.

A banquet for the couples will follow the Grand March at the American Lutheran Church. Students will then return to the high school for a dance, which ends at midnight, followed by a full night of activities.

Post-prom activities will be directed by the junior parents. Options include: inflatable games such as wrecking ball, bungie run, gladiator joust and an obstacle course along with laser tag, dodgeball, plinko, hoops, and other games from Games Unlimited. Students will also enjoy a photo booth, games in the theatre, and a hypnotist. Food and snacks will be available and prizes will be given throughout the night.
