Sixteen fifth grade students from Koch Elementary School were honored for their achievements in the classroom by receiving the President’s Award For Educational Excellence. They were recognized at the conclusion of the D.A.R.E. program Thursday, May 12, in the Koch School gymnasium.
To receive the award, students must have achieved a 3.5 or higher grade point average throughout the entire year and have advanced placement scores from their fourth grade Smarter Balance tests.
Principal Tim Lease presented each student with a Outstanding Academic Excellence certificate signed by President Obama.
