_DSC0094The Milbank Bulldogs boys tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers in a home match Thursday, May 12, at Cantine Courts.

Mitch Quade, battled in a close match, but could not hold on for the victory. He fell 6-2 and 6-3. Junior varsity players collected solid playing time, but also fell 8-1 to their opponent. The number three doubles team of James Weber and Alex Popowski secured the only win.

Milbank will wrap up its regular season with a match in Madison Saturday, May 14. The junior varsity team takes the home court in its final match Monday, May 16, with Watertown.

The varsity team will travel to Rapid City for the state tennis tournament Thursday through Saturday, May 19-21.

1. Noah Pillatkzi fell to Sam Lingor, 8-3; 2. David Basilio lost to Spencer Titus, 8-5; 3. Keaton Hagen dropped to Gray Imbery, 8-6; 4. Caden Ebsen fell to Max Prehn, 6-1; 5. James Weber lost to Charlie Okon, 6-1; 6. Alex Popowski dropped to Matt Farhni, 6-2.
Junior Varsity Doubles
1. Pillatzki/Basilio fell to Lingor/Titus, 8-4; 2. Hagen/Ebsen lost to Imbery/Prehn, 8-6; 3. Weber/Popowski defeated Okon/Farhni, 8-5. Exhibition match – Nathan Loutsch/Zach Aker fell to Okon/Farhni, 9-7.
