The Milbank Lady Bulldogs girls golf team finished third in the team standings at the Northeast Conference golf tournament Monday, May 16, at Pine Hills Golf Course in Milbank. The locals finished with a team total of 499.

Tori Quade led the Lady Bulldogs with a sixth place finish in the individual placings. She shot a 56 on the front nine and a 54 on the back. Mikaela Hoeke wrapped up the day with an eighth place finish at 115 (55-60) and Alaina Rausch finished thirteenth overall with a 120 (56-64).

Korinne Roggenbuck rounded out the scores for Milbank with a 154 (83-71). Kylie Kasuske was forced to withdraw due to illness.

“Overall I was happy with the scores,” said Milbank head golf coach Mark Keeton. “Losing Kylie after nine definitely hurt, but Mikaela and Tori shot personal bests. Putting will be our l main focus this week.”

Sisseton captured the NEC team title with a 432. Aberdeen Roncalli was the runner-up with a 442 and Groton Area finished fourth with a 513. Redfield-Doland did not field a complete team. Courtney Heath of Sisseton was the individual winner. She shot a 93.

Milbank will travel to Groton Thursday for a make-up invitational. They will take part in meets in Watertown and Sisseton in the final week of the regular season before heading to Madison for the Region 1A meet Tuesday, May 31.
