Pastor Brian McFaden and his wife, Meggan, issued a challenge to the students – donate 50 items. The wish list requested: dish and laundry soap, garbage bags, Ziploc bags, and canned and snack food. “

_DSC0059If the goal was met, Pastor Brian and Meggan agreed to let the kids throw pies at them. “The children responded in, what I can only say, was an overwhelming way,” said Pastor Brian. “They donated 300 items with an estimated value of over $500. This does call into question their motivation for bringing items,” Pastor Brian laughed. “But we will chalk it up to kindness of heart.”

“What a great effort to support a local ministry which helps people in our area who are hurting,” he said. “Thank you to all the families for your generosity.”

Thirty to 35 children took part in the week-long VBS. Each evening began with a meal for the entire family. The children then explored Bible lessons through story time, singing, games, and crafts.
