Musicians participating were: seniors, Allison Grear and Korinne Roggenbuck; juniors, Christina Lusk and Brittany Preller; and sophomore Kylie Roggenbuck. The students were accompanied by Susan Karels, band instructor for grades 6-12 at MHS.

A leadership and marching camp took place Friday, July 15. “Students were able to spend clinician time with members of the Drum Corp International (DCI) group Blue Devils,” explained Karels. “
Saturday, the students attended the 2016 Regional DCI marching event.” The marching event included 20 DCI troops from across the United States. The competition included five open class groups and 15 world class groups. The event was held at the TCF Bank Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota. “The DCI season will conclude in Indianapolis with the national competition in August.”

Karels also asks all MHS band students to mark school registration on their calendars for August 8-9. “Band uniforms will be handed out at registration.” The first high school band rehearsal will be Monday, August 22, at 7:30 p.m. “This rehearsal will be in preparation for the first home football game scheduled for Friday, August 26.
