srp3The Grant County Public Library wrapped up its summer reading program and was rated a success by library director, Jody Carlson.

This year’s program had 137 preschool through fifth grade participants and 33 teenage participants. The younger group logged over 1,500 hours of reading with the older group logging over 31,000 pages.

The top readers in the preschool to kindergarten division were Sophia Bass, Samuel Biggs, Mya Ronke and Archer and Peirce Mathiason.
Topping readers in the 1-5 grade division were Ava Sickmeller, Thomas Bass, Mack Koplin, Krista Nies, Emir Lopez, Michael Janssen, Rylen Frerichs, Uziel Lopez, Ben Webb, Jazmine Spartz and Courtney O’Neil.

Top readers in the teen division were Aiden Boerger, Jordan Riemche and Myles Pekelder.

The students were rewarded for their hard work with incentive prizes and a finale pizza party with medals and trophies presented.
“Thank you to the generous donations from community businesses,” expressed Carlson. “With your donations, we were able to provide all the prizes and awards for the children.”
