Central United Methodist Church is starting a Monday morning group beginning Monday, September 19, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the church fellowship hall.
The group is designed to build relationships among the community of Milbank. “Anyone is welcome,” stated leaders Jeny Koplin and Melissa Gall. “This is for the entire community and not just Central members.”
If you are sending your kids to school and need a break from the chores, this is for you. If you have no children, but have Monday’s off work, this is for you. If you have little children running around the house and crave adult conversations, this is for you. If you are an empty-nester but like to be around people, this is for you. “The group is really for anyone. It can be your mom time for the week, or a time for older ladies to mentor young women. We welcome you.”
Each week will be different and activities may evolve over the course of the year. Various activities such as crafts, devotions, sharing time and snacks will be planned, and based on the talents and passions of the attendees.
The Gathering will be held every Monday and will follow the school calendar. If a holiday falls on a Monday and there is no school, the group will not meet. The group will also take a break over the Christmas holiday.
A staffed nursery will provide children with the opportunity to play and enjoy various activities so mom can have her time with adults. Kristy Liebe will be in the nursery with the young children. No registration is needed ahead of time.
