Sophomore Conner VanVooren was the lone Bulldog to place in the top 10 at the Northeast Conference boys golf tournament August 25, at Valley View Country Club in Sisseton. He earned 8th place with an 18-hole score of 93. VanVooren played a 46 on the front nine and a 47 on the back.
“Conner improved 21 strokes from the Dell Rapids meet on Monday,” said Bulldog head coach Mark Keeton. “He was able to shave off ten strokes just with his putting.”
Milbank placed fourth overall in the team standings with a 397. Keeton said, “For the first time this year, we had three golfers break 100.”
Sisseton captured the NEC team title with a 343. Roncalli was the runner-up with a 351 and Groton finished third at 376. Redfield-Doland was fifth at 446.
Noah Pillatzki scored just outside the medal place winners with a 96 (48-48). Adam Thomas finished with a 97 (53-44). Gage Sayler tallied a 111 (54-57) and Logan Meyer shot a 112 (53-59).
Milbank travels to Aberdeen Tuesday, August 30. They take on Madison Tuesday, September 6.
