senior_boys_golf-2The Milbank Bulldog boys golf team traveled to Groton September 10, and tallied a season low team score of 368. They came home with a fourth place finish.

“We had a much better meet in Groton,” stated Bulldog head coach Mark Keeton. “We had a goal of taking one shot and one hole at a time. This approach helped us stay away from some big numbers.”

Adam Thomas shot his lowest round of the year with an 80 (41-39) which put him in third place overall in the individual standings. Conner VanVooren finished just outside the top ten and broke 90 for the first time this season. He finished with an 18-hole round of 88, which was highlighted with a 39 on the back nine and a 49 on the front. Noah Pillatzki finished the day with a 98 (52-46) and Gage Sayler shot a 102 (50-52).
Also competing for the Bulldogs were: Logan Meyer, 103 (50-53); Will Mischel, 104 (55-49); Chase Pinkert, 106 (57-49); and Jake Trevett, 107 (55-52).

Sisseton won the event with a team score of 326. Groton was second with a 340 and Aberdeen Central’s junior varsity team finished third at 365. Rounding out the team totals were: Mobridge, 394; Redfield-Doland, 413: and Aberdeen Roncalli, 428.

The only senior on the team, Will Mischel, and his parents will be recognized during the golf team’s Senior-Parents Night prior to the MHS volleyball match Thursday, September 15, at the Milbank Armory.
