A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Wayne D. Laskowske was born on August 10, 1962, in Milbank, South Dakota, to Delmer and Luella (Whiting) Laskowske. He attended Milbank Public Schools. Upon graduation, he studied at Watertown VoTech to become a machinist.

Wayne married Penny Erickson, of Watertown, on November 17, 1990, in Milbank. Penny died on December 26, 2008.

Wayne had the ability to do most any job set before him. He was a cement worker, carpenter, apartment manager, cook, and even repaired bowling alley automated pinsetters! Wayne’s last place of employment was Walmart in Yankton, South Dakota. Health issues, especially diabetes, were a part of his life. He lost part of his right leg, but that did not deter him from living his life to the fullest. In August of 2015 he suffered a stroke and soon afterwards moved back to Milbank to be closer to family.

Wayne was a committed family man – he adored his wife, daughter, and grandson. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Wayne is survived by his daughter, Taylor Laskowske, of Madison, SD, and her son, Dawson; step-children: Jamie Henson, Dawn Waters, Kristie Willhite, Michael Erickson, and Michelle Erickson; seven step-grandchildren; parents Delmer and Luella Laskowske of Milbank, SD; sister Roxann (Randy) Nelson of Essexville, MI; brothers: Robert (Therese) Laskowske of Big Stone City, SD, and Kelly (Laurie) Laskowske of Grafton, ND; along with nieces and nephews.
