Beverly Syrstad

Mundwiler Funeral Home announces the death of Beverly Syrstad, age 83 of Milbank who died September 15, 2016, at St. William’s Care Center.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 19, at 2:00 p.m. at Living Word Lutheran Church in Milbank. Burial will be in the LaBolt Cemetery. Visitation will be at Mundwiler Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 – 6 p.m. and continue at the church on Monday, one hour prior to the service.

Beverly Ann Syrstad was born May 8, 1933, on the family farm in Grant County, SD. She was the daughter of Melvin and Esther (Nordquist) Syrstad. She graduated from Revillo High School in 1951. She was united in marriage with Elden Tiesing on October 5, 1951. To this union four children were born. Beverly was a homemaker and raised her children. She later worked at United Hardware in Milbank for 14 years.

Beverly was an avid and competitive bowler. She also enjoyed playing pinochle. She was a member of Living Word Lutheran Church.

Beverly Syrstad is survived by her four children: Sheryl (Larry) Erp of LaBolt, SD; Renee (Dennis) Norton of Clear Lake, SD; Richard Tiesing of LaBolt, SD; Lisa Tiesing of Watertown, SD; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Joyce Peschong of Milbank, SD; Adeline Schull of Hood River, Oregon; and Sharon Weaver of New Underwood, SD; sister-in-law, Charlotte Syrstad of Lake Campbell, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Norbert Syrstad, four sisters: Evelyn Duncan, Betty Schull, Dona Chambers, Shirley Gabert, two infant sisters: Pearl and Louise.
