noahThe Milbank Bulldog boys golf team continues to improve their individual and team scores and the Redfield-Doland Invitational on September 13 was no exception. Milbank finished the meet with a team low of 366 and took fifth place.

Aberdeen Roncalli won the event with a 316. Sisseton took second with a 322 and Groton Area was third with a 337. Sioux Valley tallied a 351 for fourth place and Redfield-Doland rounded out the team standings in sixth with a 408.

“I was pleased with our scores,” said head coach Mark Keeton. “We are definitely trending in the right direction.” Gage Sayler earned the lowest score for the Bulldogs. He fired in an 18-hole round of 88 (46-42) and was just two strokes out of placing in the top 10 individually. Noah Pillatzki had a 91 (45-46) and Conner VanVooren was close behind with a 93 (49-44).

“Gage and Noah had personal best scores for this season,” Keeton said. “Overall, we just need to keep focusing on our course management and staying in the moment with every shot.” Other individual scores for Milbank were: Adam Thomas, 94 (46-48); Isaac Nolz, 97 (50-47); Logan Meyer, 97 (55-42); and Will Mischel, 112 (51-61).

Meyer took second place in the junior varsity division with his 97. Jake Trevett was third with a 104. Keaton Hagen came in at 117 and Kacen Huber at 137.
