donna-rabeDonna Rabe, age 90 of Big Stone City died September 24, 2016, at Fairway View Senior Community on Ortonville.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Tabor United Methodist Church in Big Stone City. Pastor Melanie Reiners will officiate and burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Mundwiler Funeral Home, Milbank on Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. and continue at the church on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.

Music will be presented by Roger Goosen, organist and Russell Howard, vocalist.

Honorary bearers will be granddaughters: Tanya Lynch, Kelly Rademacher, Jaclyn Pratschner, Andria Rabe, Ashley Pratschner, Megan Rabe, and Christina Rabe. Casket bearers will be grandsons: Terell (T.J.) Rabe, Chris Rabe, Marc Rabe, Doug Lynch, Nick Pratschner, Lee Pratschner, and Redgey Rademacher.

Donna June (Kottwitz) Rabe was born July 7, 1926, in Ortonville, MN. She was the daughter of Henry and Esther (Oswood) Kottwitz. She grew up in the Ortonville area and graduated from Ortonville High School. She was united in marriage with James F. Rabe on March 23, 1947, at the Kottwitz residence in Ortonville.

Donna worked for many years for North Western Bell Telephone Company as an operator. She also was a devoted farm wife and loving mother to four children: Ronald, David, Timothy, and Jane. She was a faithful member of Tabor United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Ronald (Narvilla) Rabe of Omaha, NE; David (Linda) Rabe of Cedar Rapids, IA; Tim (Nikki) Rabe of Big Stone City, SD; and Jane (LaMont) Pratschner of Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Darlyne Ceaser of Rocklin, CA and Kay (Ken) Strandvold of Milbank, SD.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers: Henry (Bud) Kottwitz, Harold Kottwitz, and Kenneth (Vern) Kottwitz.
