X-Country Runs into Tournament Play

The Milbank Area cross country teams will vie for the Northeast Conference title Thursday, October 6. On October 13, they compete at the Region 1A meet to earn a spot at State Class A. Both meets take place in Webster.

The Bulldogs’ regular season ended with top finishes at the Sisseton Invitational on September 29. Taylor Thue, Amaya Street, and Danica Schulte landed in the top 20 in the girls varsity race. Thue captured 10th place, Street finished in 16th, and Schulte was just behind her in 17th place.

Leading the varsity boys for Milbank was Nick Batchelor with a sixth place finish. Zippy Bock beat Kody Johnson by just one second to take 20th place overall. Savanna Osowski and Landon Brown took first place each in the girls and boys junior varsity races.
