_dsc0002-10The Lady Bulldogs tennis team will fight for a place on the podium during the state tennis tournament Thursday, October 6, through Saturday, October 8, at Sioux Park and Parkview Tennis Complex in Rapid City. Play begins at 8 a.m. all three days.

Senior Paige Johnson will battle at the number one singles position. She enters the tournament with a 3-13 season record. Senior Tatiana Stemsrud will play at the number two singles position and team up with Johnson at number one doubles. Stemsrud is currently 4-13 on the season and the duo is 3-13 overall.

Junior Jodi DeVaal will play at number three singles and begins the tournament with a 5-13 record. Her sister, Jamie DeVaal, is a senior and will enter her final state tournament with a identical 5-13 record. The two will team up at number two doubles. They hold a 5-11 overall record.
The final two players are senior Sarah Jarman and eighth-grader Halli Essington. Jarman plays at the number five singles spot and is 4-13 and Essington takes the number six singles position. She is is 8-8 on the season. They will pair up at the number three doubles slot and are 7-9 going into the tournament. Rhianna Cantine also travels to the state meet as an alternate for the team. Play begins at 8 a.m. all three days.
