Arlene Mae Danielson was born on November 4, 1931, in Artichoke Township, rural Correll, MN, to Ansel W. and Mayme (Guse) Rodengen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was raised on the family farm on the north side of Artichoke Lake. Arlene attended school in Appleton, MN, where she graduated from high school with the class of 1949.

On August 26, 1951, Arlene was united in marriage with Jacob Danielson at Eidskog Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with seven children and 39 years of marriage. Although primarily a homemaker, Arlene spent a majority of her time on the farm helping combine and tilling fields.

Arlene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ortonville and a previous member of Eidskog Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. When her children were young Arlene enjoyed helping with 4H. She took pleasure in gardening, fishing, cooking, and canning. Arlene was also a talented seamstress. Most important to Arlene was spending time with her family and she cherished moments with her children and grandchildren.

Blessed to have shared Arlene’s life are her children: Jacob (Bonnie) Danielson, Jr., Janet (David) Weber, Andrea (Jerome) Kaiser, Karen (Joel) Koch, Lori (Bruce) Nelsen, Michael Danielson, and Shari Danielson; thirteen grandchildren: Jeff Danielson, Alicia (Doug) Schliep, Steve (Christi) Weber, Kristin (DJ) Haggerty, Tony (Katie) Weber, Erika (Frank) Kaiser, Justin Kaiser, Brandon (Tricia) Koch, Ashley Koch, Dustin (Natalia) Koch, Lindsey (Bryce) Rausch, Allison (Alex) Dawald, and Gina Nelsen; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Dale) Krier; and several nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob Danielson on January 10, 1991; brothers: LeRoy and Thomas Rodengen; two nephews; and two nieces.
