Show your holiday spirit! Add some cheer to the Grant County Courthouse by decorating a tree for the annual Festival of Christmas Trees.
All area businesses and community organizations are invited to sign up for a tree spot by Tuesday, November 22. Trees must be set up and decorated between Monday, November 28, and Thursday, December 1, during regular courthouse hours. They will remain on display until the new year and must be removed by Friday, January 6.
All trees must be artificial without lights and decorated in a theme. A sign containing the tree’s theme and the organization or business name should be visible.
Trees will be judged by community volunteers on the following criteria: Does it capture attention? Is it neatly decorated and are the colors unified? Do the decorations carry out the theme? Does the tree show a high degree of creativity and holiday community spirit? Is it appealing? Does it follow the event guidelines?
An open house hosted by the Grant County Courthouse staff is scheduled for Tuesday, December 20, from 2 to 5 p.m. Music will be provided by Milbank students at 3 p.m.
To reserve your tree spot, call the Grant County Extension Office at 432-9221. The deadline to register is Tuesday, November 22.
