The Milbank Area Lady Bulldogs will face Miller in a Class A Sweet 16 volleyball match Thursday, November 10, for a chance to advance to the state tournament. The teams will meet at the Deubrook Area gymnasium in White at 7 p.m.
Milbank Area, a 9-seed, takes an 18-6 season record into the contest. The Lady Bulldogs will match up with number 8- seed Miller who is 22-8. “Miller looks to be a team similar to ours as far as facing common opponents and record,” stated Lady Bulldog head coach Nancy Hoeke. “We are preparing for their strong six-foot freshman middle hitter. She seems to be their attack leader and go-to hitter.”
Coach Hoeke encourages fans to come out and cheer on the Lady Bulldogs. “It could be a big advantage if our fans and community would take the short trip to support and encourage the team in hopes of making it to the state tournament,” she said. “We are just one match away!” The winner of this match will punch their ticket to the state Class A volleyball tournament in Watertown from November 17-19.
