Jean Alfreda Danielson, age 76, of Ortonville, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, November 11th, 2016, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Visitation will be held at the Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville, Minnesota on Saturday, November 19th, 2016, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. A service will take place at the Funeral Home at 6:00pm with Deacon Deb Robinson of Zion Lutheran Church officiating.
Jean Alfreda Danielson was born on March 5th, 1940, in Appleton, Minnesota, to Harold and Helen (Monson) Perseke. Jean attended Appleton High School and graduated in 1958. Later that same year in September, Jean was united in marriage to Lornell Danielson at Eidskog Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with two daughters, Kim and Kelly. Jean and Lornell farmed, raised cattle and pigs on their Artichoke Township farm for almost 40 years.
Jean took great pride in their rural home which was surrounded with beautiful gardens of flowers. Jean always had an abundant vegetable garden and enjoyed cooking and canning. In 1993, Lornell and Jean were honored with the SWCD Beautiful Farmstead award.
Jean was an active member of Eidskog Lutheran church where she participated in WELCA and Ladies Aid. When her children were young, Jean taught Sunday School, Bible School, was a Youth League Leader and helped with the Clever Clovers 4-H club.
Later, when Jean moved from the farm to Ortonville, Minnesota, she volunteered her time to the American Cancer Society along with other church activities. Most important to Jean, was spending time with family, cherishing moments with her children and grandchildren.
Blessed to have shared Jean’s life are her children: Kim Kranz of Richfield, MN and Kelly (Tony) Dreyer of Sioux Falls, SD. Jean had 4 Grandchildren: Garrett and Lydia Kranz, and Derek and Jena Dreyer.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lornell Danielson, and brother, Merlen Perseke.
