img_1034-1A blood drive was conducted Wednesday, November 23, at Milbank High School where 61 units of blood were collected. The total was just shy of its goal of 75 units, according to blood drive coordinator Kristi Lingert.

Seven MHS seniors worked with Lingert to coordinate the event. “These students helped recruit donors, created posters to advertise the drive, and handed out appointment cards to those who signed up to donate,” Lingert explained.

Serving as student coordinators were, as pictured back row, left to right, Tanner Gauer, Tim Gabriel and Nate Bien. Front row, Hannah Tietjen, Clare Van Dover, Mackayla Schuelke and Mallory Trapp. Not pictured, Kaitlin Rufer.

Approximately 30 other students workers also assisted in the event. There were 25 first-time donors, 14 deferrals and 11 incomplete.
