bloodmobileHarvey Miner reached a milestone at the American Red Cross blood drive on November 2. He attained his 12-gallon pin. Miner was amongst dozens of donors who gave a total of 102 units during the blood mobile’s stop in Milbank.

According to blood driver organizer, Margaret Skoog, the Bloodmobile was short staffed and were orienting new people. This made for long lines and wait time. Despite that, she said, “This town rocks! Even though there were long waits, people hung in there and were so patient and accepting of the situation. ..Thank you from the people you will never meet and for the lives you saved.”

The Red Cross acquires 80% of its blood at blood drives around the country and supplies 40% of the nation’s blood. St. Lawrence Catholic Church supported the drive by providing snacks for the donors.
