robert-muellerRobert A. Mueller, age 91 of Milbank died December 12, 2016, at the Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Alban Township.

Visitation will be at Mundwiler Funeral Home, Milbank on Thursday from 1 – 3 p.m. with a prayer service at 2:45 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday, one hour prior to the service.

Robert Arthur Mueller was born May 7, 1925, in Ortonville, MN. He was the son of Arthur and Minnie (Pagel) Mueller. He grew up in the Grant County area and attended rural school at Big Stone #4. At the age of 16, Robert’s dad died, and Robert began his life long career of farming. He was honored to receive the Century Farmer Award and later the 125 Year Award. The awards held a special place in his heart.

Robert was united in marriage with Ruth Angerhofer on June 4, 1952, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. They were blessed with four children: Donna, William, Warren, and Calvin.

During Robert’s dedicated years of farming, he was a member of the Grant County Weed Board for 16 ½ years. He served as Vice President of the Board of Directors on the Cenex Board. He was an active 4-H leader and always was a proud grandpa as he watched his grandchildren’s 4-H activities. He was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served as an elder. He also enjoyed playing cards and visiting with his coffee buddies.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Donna (Charles) Schell of Salt Lake City, UT; William (Raynelle) Mueller of Big Stone City, SD; Warren Mueller of Sioux Falls, SD; and Calvin (Sheila) Mueller of Florence, SD; grandchildren: Eric (Melissa) Mueller; Stacy (Tony) Campbell; Jenna (Jeff) Buyck; John Schell; Callie Mueller; Shane Skinner; Cody (Jessica) Skinner; Alyssa (Tony) Pahl; and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters: Marlys (Marlyn) Storm of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Lois Dittes of Willmar, MN; and Doris Clyde of St. Cloud, MN; brothers-in-law: Arnold (Carol) Angerhofer of Milbank, SD and Alvin Angerhofer of Milbank, SD; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded by his parents; his wife Ruth; one great-granddaughter, Alexa Campbell; brothers-in-law: Karl Dittes, Harley Clyde, and George Angerhofer.
