_dsc0109-1The students of St. Lawrence School in Milbank delighted many with their Christmas program Wednesday, December 14.

The sixth grade students were cast in the main roles of the program. Zander Bowell welcomed the large crowd before Nathan Pillatzki and Madisen Frerichs began the production with narration. Camryn Wiese played the role of the angel Gabriel. Marianna Fonder was Mary with Zander Boswell as Joseph. The three shepherds were played by Laney Forrette, Nadia Schneck and Maurina Street while the three wise men were Aiden Ludvigson, Will Snaza and Paul Van Dover.

A wide variety of songs were performed with Bible scripture read from the books of Luke and Matthew. The preschool and kindergarten students sang “He is Here!”, “Away in a Manager” and “Play the Bells To Celebrate.” First and second grade students presented “On a Starlit Night” and “Christmas Alphabet” with Becca Loehrer accompanying on the flute. Third and fourth grade students sang “Go, Go, Go to Bethlehem” and “Little Star” which featured Elijah Madsen and Bryan Meyer on the drums, Siera Wenzl on the tambourine and Rylee Scoular on the maracas. The fourth grade students also played recorders in “Good King Wenceslas.”

The fifth and sixth grade students sang “Carol of the Children” in addition to several other special pieces. The fifth graders sang “To Bethlehem” while the sixth graders played the chimes. The sixth grade boys sang “We Three Kings” with Aiden Ludvigson as a soloist while the fifth grade students played chimes. The sixth grade girls presented “Luke 1: Magnificat” with Marianna Fonder providing a solo. The sixth grade class also played “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” on the chimes.

Several large group songs were also performed. The first through sixth grade classes performed “Advent Celebration” with all students kindergarten through sixth grade wrapping up the program with “The Angels Sang.”
