Anna Mae Schneider

Anna Mae Schneider, 95, of Coon Rapids, MN, formerly of Clinton, died on December 19.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Minister Bev McNeill will officiate. Casket bearers will be her grandsons: Jeff Templin, Les Schneider, Jr., Dalles Schneider, Travis Schneider, Terry Schneider, Michael Schneider, and Hunter Schneider. Honorary bearers will be her granddaughters: Jennifer Templin , Crystal Schneider, Tiffany Schneider Loeffler, Heather Schneider, Hilary Schneider , and Ashley Schneider. Burial will be in the Clinton City Cemetery.

Anna Mae Schneider was born on April 23, 1921, in Big Stone County, MN. She was the eldest of 10 children born to Martin and Mary (LaPointe) Arndt. She completed her education through the eighth grade. On December 29, 1941, Anna Mae married Stuart Schneider, and they farmed in the Beardsley area for many years. They later made their home in Clinton, MN, where Anna Mae worked in the nursing home and Good Samaritan Center for many years. In 1986, Anna Mae moved to Dublin Park Apartments in Coon Rapids, MN, to be closer to her children.

All her life Anna Mae enjoyed cooking, baking, doing crafts and ceramics, crocheting and making quilts. Everyone in the family has some of her handicrafts and a personalized quilt! She always led a very active life and never sat still. At age 85, she was proud to get her first office job helping out as a receptionist in her apartment building – a position she held until the age of 94, when she finally decided to retire. Most of all, Anna Mae loved her family and the time she spent with them.

Anna Mae will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her five children and their spouses: Judy (Al) Templin of Altoona, WI; Les (Pat) Schneider of Danube, MN; Stuart Schneider, Jr. of Elk River, MN; Kim (Shelly) Schneider of Ramsey, MN; and Todd (Mary) Schneider of Eau Claire, WI; as well as her 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-law: Gladys Paulsen of Ortonville, MN; Darlene Colvin of St. Anthony, MN; Floradeen (John) Drewelow of Graceville, MN; Marlene Rau of Buffalo, MN; sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Arndt of Beardsley, MN; and Lois Arndt of Alexandria, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Stuart Schneider; parents, Martin and Mary Arndt; grandson, Brett Schneider; sisters: Mary Ann Arndt and Violet Nelson; and brothers: Merlin, Marvin and Martin Arndt.
