The Milbank Area Bulldogs dominated the Deubrook Dolphins December 20, in Toronto. The Dawgs defeated the Dolphins 67-32 and evened their record at 2-2.

Milbank Area led 14-7 at the end of the opening quarter and held on for a commanding 35-14 lead heading into halftime. A solid effort by the Dawgs widened the margin to 52-22 after three quarters of play. The final score was 67-32.

“The boys did a great job of setting the tempo defensively,” stated Milbank Area head coach Matt Bastian. “We talked before the game about making them uncomfortable by playing hard on defense and the guys did just that. Offensively, we did a good job of moving the ball and getting big looks. This was evident by all 10 guys getting in the scoring column. It was a great team win and a game where we did a lot of little things well.”

Nate Bien led the Dawgs with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. Jonny Ash followed with 15 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals. Mitch Quade tallied 10 points, 5 boards and 1 steal. Riley Wollschlager added 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

Adding to the totals for Milbank Area were: Cody Dockter, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals; Matt Lenards, 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals; Chandler Peery, 4 points; Derrick Aho, 3 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steal; Preston Morton, 3 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal; and James Weber, 2 points and 2 boards.

Milbank Area made 49 percent of their shots from the field by hitting 26 of 53 attempts. The Dawgs won the game with 32 rebounds, 15 steals, 2 assists, and 1 blocked shot. They committed just four turnovers.

Deubrook went 14-of-41 from the field for 34 percent shooting. The Dolphins ended the game with 30 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist, and 16 turnovers.
