Grant County Combined Appeal presented two checks for $1,000 each to the Grant County Food Pantry and the Salvation Army. “At our quarterly Milbank Community Foundation board meeting, we approved the 2017 Combined Appeal allocations,” explained MCF Finance Director Craig Wellnitz. “Because additional funds were received, after filling the requests of all the agencies, the board approved these one-time donations.”
The Food Pantry donation will aid in restocking its shelves. ICAP community service worker, Heather Rise, said, “ICAP and the Food Pantry are available to anyone in Grant County. “Please do not be afraid to come to get food during this time of emergency. If your food has gone bad, we are here to help you.”
The Salvation Army in Milbank provides disaster services, emergency financial assistance, emergency shelter, food and nutrition programs, and other seasonal services. “Grant County is ahead of the game,” stated Mark Rodvold of the Salvation Army. “The great thing is funds come from local people and stay local.”
