Nancy (Mrs. James) Remund, age 71 of Milbank passed on December 31, 2016, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Milbank. Rev. Thom Bowsher will officiate and the burial will be in the Milbank Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4 at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5 – 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the services.

Honorary bearers will be Nancy’s grandchildren. Casket bearers will be: Charlie Veen, Lyle Behlings, Cliff Boerger, Oliver Wendland, Richard Miller and David Christenson.

Nancy Ella (Dykes) Remund was born October 2, 1945, in Council Grove, Kansas. She was the daughter of Charles and Erma (Jones) Dykes. Nancy graduated from high school in Salina, KS.

Nancy lived in Salina until 1965. She moved all around the United States – living in Las Vegas, NV and Panama City, FL. She moved to Milbank in 1968 and has since resided.

Nancy was united in marriage with James R. Remund on October 20, 2001, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. While living in Milbank, Nancy worked as a seasonal worker at The Flower Shoppe and Hardees for five years. She enjoyed line dancing, scrapbooking, reading, she especially enjoyed Joel Osteen – reading his books and watching his telecasts. She liked photography, taking many photos of flowers and birds. She and Jim enjoyed spending winters in Texas and always enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim Remund of Milbank, SD; her children: David (Lori) Christenson; Susan Alexander; Andrea (Scott) Bush; six grandchildren: Grayson Christenson, Caleb Christenson, MacKenzie Christenson, Autumn Christenson, Oliver Wendland, and Gordon Wendland; great grandchildren Mya and Kayden; half-sister DyAnna Ellis; and her beloved kitty, Toby. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials are preferred to Nancy’s Family.
