Betty Dammer

Betty Ann Dammer, age 82, of Milbank died January 4, 2017, at the Jenkins Living Center in Watertown.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Parkview Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. DeVern Schwenn officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 6, from 5 – 7 pm at Mundwiler Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.

Betty Ann Dammer was born to Carl and Jennie (Hoeke) Johanson on March 15, 1934, in Milbank, SD. Betty grew up in Milbank and attended school through the 11th grade. On March 22, 1953, she married Sievert Dammer at the Twin Brooks Presbyterian Church. To this union, three children were born: Barbara, Gloria and LaVonne.

Betty was very active and she enjoyed helping her husband on the farm. She was a devoted mother and wife. Betty also enjoyed gardening and tending her garden, crocheting and canning!

Left with her loving memory are her children: Gloria (Bruce) Beutler of Watertown, SD; LaVonne (Rick) Seehafer of Watertown, SD; brother, James (Darla) Johanson of Corona, SD; sister-in-law, Dorothy Johanson of Milbank, SD; special friends, Conrad and LaVonne Schuelke; and many other family members and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sievert; infant daughter, Barbara Jean; siblings: Kenneth Johanson, Doris (Norris) Storm, and Shirley (Andy) Mortenson.
