_DSC0170There’s still time to take in the 69th Annual Grant County Farm and Home Show! Saturday’s hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m at the Milbank Armory. The show is hosted by the Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce and Grant County 4-H.

According to the Milbank Chamber Events Director Laura Kelly and show vendors, traffic remained steady all day despite the change in the school calendar to accommodate the event. “We had a good turnout,” Kelly stated. “There were a couple food vendors that did not participate this year because students would not be present as in the past, but otherwise things are going well.” There was no school in the Milbank Schools today, taking students out of the traffic mix. “Most of the vendors are not targeting students anyway, and it really hasn’t made a whole lot of difference for us,” stated Laura Foss and Sandy Christensen with Stengel Oils.

“There’s less congestion around our area in the lobby, but it hasn’t really impacted the number of people stopping and visiting with us,” said Hilary Dexter with ITC. “Traffic has been the same as past years.”

The annual Farm and Home Show features a variety of vendors from Windy Prairie Coffee to Deuel- Grant Farm Bureau. “We feature home service vendors, financial institutions, farm supply businesses, and personal home-based businesses,” Kelly said. “There really is a little something for everyone.”

“I enjoy the Farm and Home Show with all the booths and seeing people you haven’t seen in awhile,” said Rochelle Reede. “The giveaways are fun to sign up for, too!”

The annual Farmers Appreciation breakfast is Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the Milbank Visitors Center. The Farm Show Lego Contest takes place at noon in the school lunchroom with check-in beginning at 11:30 a.m. Grant County 4-H youth will participate in a Public Presentation youth-in-action event Saturday at 9 a.m. in classroom 43 of the high school.

Two presentations will take place in the high school choir room. Arlo Levison will present Historical Society Recent Acquisitions at 10:30 a.m. At 12:30 p.m., Ag Related Apps for Your Device will be presented by Rural Solutions.
